Associate, Investments & Commercial
Reporting to the Managing Director, Investments & Commercial, PowerTransitions is seeking an experienced Investment Associate to play a key role in the Company’s growth. The candidate will build high quality and complex financial models, develop board level presentations, and conduct extensive market research utilizing results from due diligence to determine the main assumptions and basis for long-term projections, present results to management, the board, lenders, investors and others. Based on financial models and results of due diligence, this position will be responsible for completing valuation analysis utilizing the most up-to-date valuation methodologies, outlining key status, assumptions, financial projections, risks and mitigants associated with projects, negotiating with lending institutions and presenting to investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain timely, accurate and sophisticated enterprise level and project level financial models that will be used for budgeting and forecasting the Company's financial performance
Prepare and present detailed financial and economic models, budgets, analysis and forecasting for senior management
Develop creative financing solutions and calculate valuation adjustments
Recommend and implement process improvements
Develop and track key performance metrics against the Company’s strategic objectives
Conduct market research and present results to senior management
Prepare and present project and company presentations to senior management
Support and perform other projects as assigned
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong Excel/ Power Point and Macros skills
Strong verbal and written skills
Energy, power and investment banking experience preferred.
Qualifications:
Education & Licenses
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a numerical discipline (i.e. finance, accounting, math, engineering)
Professional
Two years’ experience working with renewable energy or power projects
Two years’ experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisition, valuation consulting, management consulting, or private equity
Skills
Demonstrated experience in hands-on analytics, financial modeling, and due diligence
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in the face of distractions
The ability to effectively communicate & interact with senior management
The ability to continuously adapt to change.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to anticipate project and corporate needs and have ability to manage and progress work assignments independently; ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work across several reporting lines under deadline
Ability to work as part of complex, cross-functional team and relay concepts in a direct and impact-oriented manner
Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
