About the Role
Lead all aspects of engineering design, procurement, and construction execution for PowerTransitions' renewable power generation facilities (solar and wind), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and data-center-powered land assets developed on brownfield sites. This role is accountable for end-to-end project engineering and EPC oversight from technical due diligence through commissioning and turnover to operations.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering & Transmission Interconnection Systems, you'll serve as the primary technical authority ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with regulatory, grid interconnection, and commercial requirements.
What You'll Do
Lead technical due diligence for acquisition targets, assessing existing assets, interconnection facilities, and environmental constraints
Define redevelopment strategies to convert legacy assets into solar PV facilities, BESS, and data center powered land
Oversee engineering design across electrical, civil/structural, mechanical, SCADA, controls, and communications disciplines
Manage procurement strategy and execution for major equipment packages including PV modules, inverters, transformers, and BESS systems
Define and execute EPC contracting strategies (full EPC, EPCM, multi-prime, or hybrid structures)
Provide Owner's Engineer oversight ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
Oversee commissioning, performance testing, and smooth handover to operations
Build and lead a high-performing engineering and EPC oversight team as the portfolio grows
What We're Looking For
Required:
10-15 years of progressive experience in power generation, renewable energy project development, engineering, and construction
5-7 years in senior engineering, EPC, or project leadership roles managing technical teams and project portfolios
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline
Direct experience managing utility-scale projects (solar >50MW, wind, BESS, thermal, or data-center power) through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
Proven track record of successfully delivering renewable energy projects on time and within budget
OSHA 30-hour certification required
Preferred:
Master's degree or MBA
Professional Engineering (PE) license
Demonstrated expertise in brownfield redevelopment, environmental remediation, and adaptive reuse of existing infrastructure
Experience with EPC contracting models including lump-sum turnkey, EPCM, cost-plus, and multi-prime approaches
