What You'll Do

  • Analyze generation dispatch outcomes and unit economics using operational and market inputs across energy and ancillary service markets

  • Support fuel procurement analytics including basis, transport, and delivered cost drivers for natural gas and backup fuel

  • Monitor power market fundamentals including LMPs, congestion, heat rates, and day-ahead/real-time dynamics

  • Perform settlements validation and reconciliations for energy, ancillary services, and capacity revenues

  • Build structured scenarios and sensitivities supporting budgeting, acquisition underwriting, and portfolio decisions

  • Design and maintain analytical tools and datasets using Excel, SQL, Python, and BI tools

  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports communicating key drivers, variances, and commercial implications

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3-8 years of experience in U.S. power and/or natural gas markets, generation dispatch, fuel supply, or related commercial operations (IPP, utility, developer, energy manager, ISO/RTO, trading, or consultancy)

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills and high attention to accuracy

  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights and manage multiple deliverables independently

Preferred:

  • Experience in PJM, NYISO, and/or ISO-NE markets; familiarity with other ISOs/RTOs (ERCOT, MISO, SPP, CAISO)

  • SQL/Python for analysis and automation; Power BI or Tableau for dashboards and reporting

  • Working knowledge of LMPs, congestion, DA/RT spreads, ancillary services, capacity markets, and basis concepts
